While balancing sustainable use of the ocean with economic activity is an urgent matter for achieving SDG14 and for international society, acquiring the funding necessary for marine environmental conservation remains a challenge. As a result, Blue Finance has in recent years drawn attention as a capital procurement means for a sustainable ocean. In this article, we would like to introduce and examine the prospects of Blue Finance as a new concept for realizing a sustainable ocean economy (blue economy).
