Is continuous coexistence between nature and man in the island possible?This article reports on the present situation in national parks based on impressions and realizations during an actual visit to one. -

The environment surrounding Japan's fisheries industry is pointing at the reduced vitality of fishing villages.Even in Zamami Village, Okinawa Prefecture, as the prime fishing operation began to fade, a number of fishermen left the island to look for a job.A decrease in population took place and community and economic collapse were feared.These crises established a way to live through various ways to use the ocean such as diving and whale watching enterprises.

I want to raise children who love Kashiwazaki.This is the wish of every faculty member who works for Kashiwazaki City.To that end, the teachers themselves consider that it is very important to love Kashiwazaki through learning its history, culture and the nature around it.At the Kashiwazaki City Education Center, the faculty members feel Kashiwazaki in their bones and to bring this in school, a lot of hands-on training courses are being planned and implemented.This article introduces one of these courses, the seaside field trip.
