Not only are seawater and the atmosphere transparent, but also their movement is invisible. When we hear of Kuroshio and westerlies, it portrays to us the image of large smooth flows of material. However, it must be realized that in actual fact these flows involve many eddies and much turbulence.
he world's population is predicted to reach 10 billion in approximately 50 years, leaving us with the large problem of how we are going to secure enough food to nourish so many people. Great attention is being paid to the large productive potential of the ocean, including that of its untapped resources, but in order to establish an increase in aquatic resources and a stable supply framework for the future, the policy options to conserve the environment of our fishing grounds need to be promptly explored.
