Recently, the promotion of a sustainable blue economy is pursued at the global level. In particular, efforts in Pacific Island states are not only simple economic activities but are considered important policies at the national level in that they can be directly linked to national development.
 
In this seminar, we invite H.E. Mr. Steven Victor, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Environment of the Republic of Palau and other high-level officials, that the latest developments in the promotion of fisheries and aquaculture, bilateral cooperation between Japan and Palau for marine conservation and sustainable use of fishery resources, and the progress and challenges of the Blue Pacific Prosperity Initiative (BPPI), the Palau National Marine Sanctuary Act, and other measures, will be introduced by them, and the panelists will also discuss how to effectively disseminate information at upcoming international ocean-related conferences.
