"Obama and Asia" Lecture by Dr. Victor Cha (10 Dec, 2009)

The Sasakawa Peace Foundation has invited Dr. Victor Cha, former Director for Asian Affairs in the National Security Council of the White House and former Deputy Head of the United States Delegation to the Six Party Talks under the George W. Bush Administration. Dr. Cha, who is currently the Korea Chair of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and associate professor at Georgetown University, will provide insight into U.S. policy toward the North East Asia region and the U.S.-Japan relationship, which has entered a new stage with the inauguration of the Hatoyama administration. In the course of his lecture, Dr. Cha will shed light on issues concerning the U.S. and countries in the North East Asia region, including trade and investment issues with China and Korea, and will provide informed analysis in consideration of recent events such as President Obama's first visit to Japan and Asian tour.
