(April 4th, 2018)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Sasakawa Peace Foundation jointly organize International Seminar "The Age of Renewable Energy Diplomacy and Japan’s Course”.
Presently, renewable energy is rapidly spreading around the world against a background of dramatic price reduction of solar PVs, wind power, storage batteries, etc. Renewable energy and energy efficiency are supposed as two significant contributors to the enforcement of the Paris Agreement to address climate change, and a number of activities which favour renewable energy such as green finance are ongoing.Amid the global trend in the direction of renewable energy, we invite Dr. Adnan. Z. Amin, Director-General of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), who advocates “The Age of Renewable Energy Diplomacy”, and ask for a keynote speech at this seminar.
In this seminar, Director-General Amin and government officials, experts and corporate individuals in Japan discuss how the current global momentum of renewables and active “Renewable Energy Diplomacy” would affect the future of energy and how Japan should think and act facing such substantial change.
We look forward to your participation.
