Project Outline
The Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda, which highlights the critical role of women in conflict resolution and peacebuilding, has been promoted over the past 20 years with many global, national, and local stakeholders. However, the transformative potential of this agenda is not fully realized. The number of women negotiators, mediators, and signatories in peace processes are still limited and violence also continues to disproportionately affect women. In light of the significant discrepancy between the agenda’s vision and the reality on the ground, this project offers its own contribution by providing an independent perspective as well as practical policy proposals based on our experiences in conflict areas.
