Project Outline
The Sasakawa Japan-China Friendship Program has had great success in addressing the lack of objective information about Japan available in China, publishing a total of 116 translated works in the period from 2009 to 2019. Despite a tightening of restrictions on foreign publications in recent years, demand for translated works remains strong, and we can expect to see benefits in the long term. This project seeks to promote mutual understanding between Japan and China by publishing translations of selected specialist works and general knowledge books in China that provide more accurate and balanced information on Japan, while at the same time releasing publications in Japan that allow Japanese readers to better understand Chinese society.
