Sale of Uotsuri Island, Kuba Island, Minamikojima Island, and Kitakojima Island to Koga

In 1932, the Japanese government sold four Senkaku islands to Koga Zenji. On February 20, Kuba Island was sold for 247 yen, on February 25, Uotsuri Island for 2,825 yen, and on March 31, Minamikojima Island for 47 yen and Kitakojima Island for 31 yen 50 sen. (Ref. 1)

The accompanying registration of transfer of ownership rights was applied for to the Yaeyama office of Hirara District Court by Kumamoto Forest Management Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Transfer registration was completed for Uotsuri Island and Kuba Island on May 27, 1932, and for Minamikojima Island and Kitakojima Island on July 28. (Ref. 2)
