On June 12 of 1905, Nakai Yozaburo, Hashioka Tomojiro, Iguchi Ryuta, and Kato Shigezo notified Shimane Prefecture Governor Matsunaga Takekichi that Mr Nakai would act as the representative of the Takeshima Hunting and Fishing Limited Partnership Company. (Ref.1)

The four men also notified Oki Islands Magistrate Higashi Bunsuke on June 13, 1905 that the courts had registered their business after they founded the Takeshima Hunting and Fishing Limited Partnership Company on June 6 of that year. Copies of the partnership’s articles of incorporation and auxiliary agreements were attached. These documents indicate that the partnership agreed to hunt Takeshima sea lions and manufacture and sell sea lion-based products as well as outlining the amount invested and other arrangement for operating the business.
