Shimane Prefecture grants the Oki Islands Federation of Fisheries Co-operative Association fishery rights to collect seaweed and shellfish

The Governor of Shimane Prefecture on June 18 of 1953 issued common fishery rights to the Oki Islands Federation of Fisheries Co-operative Association, in accordance with the Fisheries Act (Act No. 267 of 1949), to collect and fish for various forms of marine life; including wakame, iwa-nori, gelidiaceae, abalone, turban snails, sea cucumber, octopus and sea urchin. (These rights were in effect from June 18 of 1953 until August 31 of 1961.) (Ref.1)
Explanation: These common fishery rights are renewed every 10 years and are still in effect today.
