Japan provides Takeshima to the United States as a bombing range in accordance with the Security Treaty Between Japan and the United States of America, as well as the Japan – United States Administrative Agreement

Takeshima was classified as a bombing range by SCAPIN-1778 on September 16 of 1947 and by SCAPIN-2160 of July 16 of 1951, during the occupation. Successively, Takeshima was designated as a bombing range for the US forces stationing in Japan [based on the Security Treaty] on July 26, 1952 by the Joint Committee, which was a deliberative body formed between Japan and the United States in accordance with the Japan – United States Administrative Agreement.
