Rights to prospect for phosphate rock in Takeshima are established

In May of 1935 a petition to prospect for phosphate rock on Takeshima was submitted to the Osaka Mining Inspection Bureau. The Japanese Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in the Official Gazette dated September 19 of 1939, announced that Kobayashi Gentaro and another individual were permitted to prospect for rock phosphate on Takeshima on June 6 of that year.
