OPINEAR
Background and Objective
The Ocean Policy Institute Network in East Asia Region (OPINEAR) is a network of policy research institutes established by ocean policy research institutes in the East Asian region that participated in a meeting organized by the Ocean Policy Research Foundation in February 2008 in Tokyo. The main objective of OPINEAR is to encourage information sharing and collaboration among regional ocean policy research institutes.
Outline
As of September 2015, the following seven organizations are presently members (COMI joined in 2010; the other six members have been affiliated since the first assembly). Moreover, two organizations have joined as observers (PEMSEA since 2008 and ANCORS since 2011).
