@The Sasakawa Japan-China Friendship Fund will cooperate with the Harvard Yenching Institute, Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, and Harvard University Asia Center to coordinate a symposium on gHistorical Dialogue and Reconciliation in East Asia: Recent Practice and Future Prospectsh. SPF announces new Program Policy and grant application procedures

SPF has been in the process of an organizational reform and review of its activities that involve the abolishment of the Operational Guidelines for the Fourth Midterm Program, and the renewal of the mission statement and selection processes for proposals. Thanks to the efforts of outside experts and the SPF staff, a new Program Policy has now been formulated. We are pleased to announce the SPF Program Policy, the Grant Application Guidelines, as well as the Application Cover Sheet.

It is with deep regret to inform that Mr. Setsuya Tabuchi, Chairman of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation(SPF), passed away of heart failure on June 26, 2008, at the age of 84. Mr. Tabuchi has served as Chairman of the SPF since its established in 1986. We are eternally thankful for his many contributions to the SPF. He is dearly missed by all of us.

A private funeral for Mr. Tabuchi was held in the attendance of family and friends on June 29, 2008.
