Amane KOBAYASHI, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Musashino University in Tokyo, Japan. He also works as Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Mediation Support of Sasakawa Peace Foundation. His expertise includes the politics and security of the Middle East and North Africa with a special focus on Libya, as well as regional energy geopolitics. He was Senior Researcher at the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ). From 2021 to 2023, He served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Japan in Libya. He has previously held research positions at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and Keio University. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Media and Governance from Keio University, Japan.
