Kenneth R. Weinstein is Japan Chair at Hudson Institute, where he served as CEO from 2005 through 2020. Weinstein, who earned his PhD at Harvard University, writes for major global publications, and was decorated with a knighthood in arts and letters by France in 2006.
Weinstein has served on federal advisory commissions under the past four US presidents. In March 2020, Weinstein was nominated by President Trump to serve as US Ambassador to Japan. His nomination received unanimous support from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee but the nomination expired with the end of the 116th Congress.
