The Sasakawa Peace Foundation has been implementing the project entitled "Asian Opinion Leaders' Exchange" since the fiscal year 2014. The project aims to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen collaboration between Japan and Asian countries through inviting Asian opinion leaders to Japan and engaging them in dialogue with Japanese policy makers, scholars and business leaders.
On May 19, 2015, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation will organize a public seminar by inviting Dr. C. Raja Mohan, a world-leading analyst of India's foreign policy and South Asian security. Currently serving as Director of Carnegie India, Dr. Mohan is also a renowned journalist, working as a foreign affairs columnist for major Indian daily newspapers, such as The Indian Express. He is the former member of India's National Security Advisory Board, and has contributed to a number of leading academic and research institutions not only in India, but also in Singapore, Australia and the USA. The Foreign Policy magazine designated him as one of the top 100 thinkers on international affairs in 2009.
As an expert on great power relations in Asia, in this public seminar, Dr. Mohan will discuss new prospects for Indian and Japanese contributions to the idea of Asian's integration and the possibilities for renewing cooperation in reconnecting Asia. With focus on regional connectivity, Dr. Mohan will also address China's 'One Belt, One Road' strategy in addition to the Japanese Government's recent initiative, 'Partnership for Quality Infrastructure: Investment for Asia's Future'.
We look forward to welcoming all of you at this seminar.
