Educational Television Broadcast of "The Structure of Market Economy" in Cambodia

Project contents
Following its broadcast in Vietnam in FY 1996, this series of six half-hour television programs, originally produced under a project administered by the Sasakawa Central Europe Fund, was translated into Khmer and broadcast in Cambodia. The results of this first year of the project included the translation and editing of both the series and its accompanying texts, a pre-broadcast survey gauging viewers' understanding of market economy, and the first broadcast itself. The programs were aired twice a week, on Monday evenings and Friday afternoons, from February 16 to March 27. Arousing much interest in the media and among students and businessmen even before it was aired, the series has already been scheduled for second- and third-time broadcasts beginning in the spring of 1998.
