Masanori KOBAYASHI

Mr. Masanori Kobayashi is a Senior Research Fellow at the Ocean Policy Research Institute (OPRI) of The Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) in Tokyo, Japan, undertaking research work on ocean and sustainability policy, including marine and coastal resource management, ocean governance, blue economy, fishery policies, island-coastal-ocean management, ocean-climate-land, governance, marine biodiversity, high seas, the Pacific and Indian Ocean, regional seas, innovation, community and stakeholder empowerment, and leadership development. He has worked on sustainability issues in the Pan Asia Fund and Pacific Island Nations Fund of SPF (Research Fellow), the Ocean Policy Research Foundation (Research Fellow), the Yokohama National University Graduate School for Environment and Information Science (Associate Professor), the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES, Principal Researcher), the United Nations (Programme Officer, Geneva and Bonn and Advisor on Sustainable Development, New York), and the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Specialized Researcher).
