Dr. Toshihiro Nakayama (Professor at Keio University)
We are saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Dr. Toshihiro Nakayama, Professor at Keio University.
Dr. Nakayama was an invaluable contributor and mentor for the Japan-U.S. Program. He cooperated and joined many of our projects and discussions, which have now grown into the Program’s keystones. His humor and sharp wit always stimulated members at the workshops and offered a fresh perspective to their discussion. Every paper he penned provided a comprehensive yet realistic view backed by his unique insights and deep thoughts, and it has gained and influenced a large readership.
Dr. Nakayama’s profound knowledge, vision, and warm personality was the one and only, as well as crucial to the Japan-U.S. communities. His sudden and early death represents a significant loss to both Japan and the U.S.
It was our great honor to work with Dr. Nakayama. All we at the Japan-U.S. Program can do now is to deeply appreciate his contributions and to try our best to pass his legacy to the society.
We would like to express our heartfelt condolences and gratitude to Dr. Nakayama, and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
