1962 Being Born in Hokkaido. He joined the JGSDF after graduating from the National Defense Academy in 1985. During his almost 35 years of military services, he served such Commanders as a company commander of the 1st Infantry Regiment (Nerima), Commander of the 39th Infantry Regiment (Hirosaki), Director General of the Okinawa Provincial Cooperation Office (Okinawa), Commander of the 8th Division (Kita-kumamoto), and Commanding General of the Western Army (Kengun). He also served such General Staffs as Chief of the Officers ‘Assignment Section, Chief of Personnel Planning Division, Ground Staff Office (Ichigaya), Deputy Chief of Staff, Northern Army HQs (Sapporo), Director of Education and Training Department, Ground Staff Office (Ichigaya), and Deputy Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Office (Ichigaya), etc. Furthermore, He studied at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College(1999-2000,Kansas, U.S.A.) and he was dispatched as the commander of the third Japanese Contingent for UN peacekeeping to the Golan Heights (1997, Syria and Israel). He retired from the Self Defense Forces in August 2020 after serving as the Commanding General of the Western Army, and has been in his current position since December 2020.
