Lectures by Iranian Experts
The Political Situation within and outside Iran after the Arab Spring (October 23, 2012)
Closed.
The Sasakawa Middle East Islam Fund invites two experts engaged in the fields of energy security and Middle East politics from the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) –a think-tank affiliated with the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs– and the Institute for Middle East Strategic Studies (IMESS). On this occasion, we will host lectures on the theme, “the Political Situation within and outside Iran after the Arab Spring” on October 23, 2012.
The first speaker, Dr. Kayhan Barzegar, is a president of IMESS, as well as a chair of the department of Politics and International Relations at the Islamic Azad University and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Strategic Research (CSR). He will speak on the topic of “Arab Revolutions and Geopolitical Changes in the Middle East.”
After teaching as a faculty member at the Economics Department of the Islam Research Unit of Imam Siddique University, the second speaker Dr. Ali Biniaz served as a diplomat in London as well as in Kuala Lumpur. He is currently the Director of the Energy Research Group at IPIS. He will discuss trends in energy and international relations in his lecture entitled “Crossroad Rule in Energy Sphere”.
