A Lecture Series on Political Change in the Middle East

Sasakawa Peace Foundation Presents:
A Lecture Series on Political Change in the Middle East
Lecture 9: The Middle Eastern/Syrian Situation and the Status of Syrian Refugees in Neighbouring Countries (November 28, 2012)
Closed.
In order to keep abreast of the rapidly changing political situation in the Islamic Middle East, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation is currently conducting a lecture series on political movements in the region.

For this lecture, the ninth in the series, the Foundation has invited Mr. Masaki Kunieda, Former Japanese Ambassador to Syria, and Mr. Cyril Cappai, Overseas Operations Director of JEN, the first Japanese NGO to operate in Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, to speak on the themes of Syria, where continued political unrest and a worsening human rights situation is causing an increased flow of refugees to neighbouring countries, as well as the general political situation in the Middle East on 28 November, 2012.

The former ambassador Mr. Kunieda will give an objective analysis of the situation in Syria based on his four year experience in the country.
Mr. Cappai, who is currently conducting a survey of needs at Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan with the support of SPF, will report the most recent situation of the Syrian refugees.

We hope you will join us at what promises to be a highly informative and entertaining event.
