The Sasakawa Middle East and Islam Fund Presents:
On November 26, “The Role of Iran in Combating Terrorism and Extremism in the Middle East”
(2015.11.26)
Closed.

Following the adaption of the resolution by U.N. Security Council to endorse the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear issue on 18 October 2015, the Japanese government has declared that it will continue to support the implementation process of the JCPOA to strengthen the international non-proliferation regime and the stability in the Middle East. Envisioning a new era to come for Iran to play an important role in the international community, the Sasakawa Middle East Islam Fund (SMEIF) has launched a research project to promote a policy dialogue on the countermeasures for terrorism and extremism in the Middle East.

On the occasion of the first conference between Japanese and Iranian experts to be held in Tokyo, SMEIF will hold a Public Seminar, inviting two Iranian experts as speakers: Dr. Davood Feirahi, Professor of Political Science at University of Tehran, also known as a prominent philosopher and Dr. Mohammad Masjed Jamei, former Iranian Ambassador to Vatican. We have also invited Dr. Yasuyuki Matsunaga, Professor of Political Science at Tokyo University for Foreign Studies to moderate the Q & A session. Professor Matsunaga is an expert on political and religious thoughts in Iran.

We hope you will join us at this informative event.
