FY2013

Prehospital Care System Development in Cambodia

Content of the Conference
In order to survey the necessary support content and methodology necessary for this year's workshop, Yuki Nakayama, lecturer, emergency systems research at the graduate department of Kokushikan University was dispatched to Cambodia from June 10-11.

Mr. Nakayama travelled to national hospitals (Calmette Hospital, Khmer - Soviet Friendship Hospital, and Phnom Penh Municipal Referral Hospital, among others) and assessed the level of proficiency that had been attained during the 2012 workshops as well as the overall level of familiarity with the workshop content. Although the level of ability among emergency personnel was considered to have room for improvement (in areas such as emergency treatment and patient rescue), it was clear that all team members were putting the available facilities to the best possible use. Moreover, it was clear that the importance of looking after emergency vehicles was well understood.
