Tomohiko TSUNODA

After finishing his Master of Science at the Center for Climate System Research of the University of Tokyo, he joined the Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI) in 1998. He held the position of Senior Researcher, which he vacated in 2015.
During his career at the MRI, he was engaged in many national projects on ocean policy, such as developing a Marine Cadastre prototype system and aiding in the formulation of the second Basic Plan on Ocean Policy in Japan.
Although his research mainly focused on physical oceanography, his research interests also include ocean policy and science-based information sharing. He is also in charge of the program on the UN Decade of Ocean Science at OPRI-SPF.
