The research seeks to better understand the ocean policies of other nations by examining data and information collected from eight different countries, with the goal of utilizing this information to further develop the ocean policy of Japan. The research will consider each country’s approach to the basic laws concerning the ocean, planning, management structures, exclusive economic zone (EEZ) management, as well as assessments of major issues such as marine debris.
