Signing of the Okinawa Reversion Treaty

On June 17, 1971, the Okinawa Reversion Treaty (Agreement Between Japan and the United States of America Concerning the Ryukyu Islands and the Daito Islands) was signed simultaneously by Japan and the United States, and it was agreed to return Okinawa to Japanese administration. (Ref. 1)
