International Symposium
“Sustainable Blue Economies -Challenges and Future Perspectives for Palau”

Overview
The promotion of a sustainable blue economy is identified as one of the priority policies for many coastal and island countries. At the 7th "Our Ocean Conference" held in Palau in April and the 2nd "United Nations Ocean Conference" held in Lisbon, Portugal in June, government leaders and stakeholder representatives underlined the importance of promoting sustainable blue economies, regional cooperation and international collaboration in Pacific island countries.

At this symposium, H.E. Surangel Whipps Jr., President of the Republic of Palau and his cabinet members and the Palau’s parliament representatives will address policies and perspectives to promote sustainable blue economies in Palau and strengthen partnership with the Japanese government, organizations and stakeholders.
