Application Procedure

The SCEF invites the submission of innovative proposals for its reviews. Applications may be submitted in letter format and should include the following:

  1. an outline of the project objectives
  2. an implementation plan
  3. an itemised budget plan
  4. a description of the applying organisation.

NB The grant agreements are made and renewed on an annual basis. Grants themselves, however, may cover a period of up to three years.

Although no submission deadline has been set, it would be convenient if proposals are submitted in accordance with the SCEF's annual schedule, as follows:

  1. Projects normally commence in either April or July. Proposals for these projects should be submitted by the end of September of the previous year.
  2. For projects to commence in either September or December, proposals should be submitted by the end of March of the same year.

Please note that all projects must be completed by the end of March, which is the end of the Japanese fiscal year.

Upon completing our evaluation of a submitted proposal, the SCEF will promptly notify the applying organisation of the result. In conducting our evaluation, we may request additional information regarding the proposal, if needed.
