"Get Across the Voices of Asia" Program/PhaseIII

Since 2000, the SPF has been disseminating messages from intellectuals in Asia through the "Get Across the Voices of Asia" program in order to promote correct recognition of Asia and the formation of favorable opinions toward Asia in international society. Phase III of the "Get Across the Voices of Asia" project plans to disseminate a variety of information from Asia in a timely fashion through various media including publication, translation, electric files and video, while continuing the production and broadcasting of interview programs with Asian political and social leaders as well as hosting a seminar series in the U.S. and Europe.
While the following activities are planned in the course of this year, as a part of preparation for the implementation of associated projects from next year and beyond, a network building with journalists, a survey regarding installing a forum of information sharing harnessing the power of IT, etc are also assumed.
  1. Preparation and Broadcasting of an interview program, "THE LEADERS". About eight short interview programs, each about 30 minutes in length, will be prepared and distributed on a web site. Excerpts of interviews will also be posted on the AsianViews web site and be carried by some monthly publications.

  2. "Asian Voices" Seminar (Washington DC/Brussels)>
    (1) Speakers will be dispatched to seminars which the SPF USA will hold for about ten times per annum in Washington DC. This year's focus will be "unknown regions/discussion points".
    (2) The project will commission the European Policy Centre in Brussels to organize seminars approximately 9 times per annum.
    (3) Summaries of the seminars above will be made public on such web sites as Inter Press Service (IPS) and AsiaViews, as well as some monthly magazines.
