Training Program for PLA Staff in Charge of Japan-China Security Exchange

In this project, the China Institute for International Strategic Studies will send two PLA Japanese specialists to Japan who will receive training, including Japanese language training at Waseda University and diplomatic and security studies. They will also participate in political and security seminars held by AFJ. The project aims to foster PLA staff who can understand Japanese diplomatic policies
- Education and Training (2007, Waseda University)
(1) Language Training
Trainees will attend the Level 8 language course, which represents the proficiency in Japanese sufficient for attending university classes and engaging themselves in research activities.
(2) Trainings in International Relations Studies
Trainees listen in lectures related to international relations as foreign research students.
- Research Activities
(1) Participation in Seminars, Opinion Exchange, etc.
Trainees will take part in seminars, opinion exchange sessions and other occasions organized by the AFJ so as to deepen their understanding of Japanese politics, defense issues and international relations.
(2) Study Tours
Trainees will participate in tours to visit relevant defense-related sites in regional cities.
