Forum 2000 meetings have been held in Prague since 1997 to discuss the creation of a philosophy for peaceful coexistence of various people. Phase I of the Forum 2000 discussed common issues for all humanity, and the results have been released to the world. Phase II tried to construct a common platform for dialogue between conflict groups, and Phase III will organize an international gGeneral Meetingh to study the causes of world threats including terrorism, and conflicts between peoples of different religions and/or ethnicities, and to discuss possible solutions to these threats. The General Meeting will be held annually and involve about 20 invited world political, economical, and ideological leaders. A core group, the Shared Concern Initiative, will set the themes for the meetings, compile the results and prepare proposals. The Shared Concern Initiative will release joint announcements for the purpose of resolving world threats as needed.
- General Meeting (Prague, October 8 to 9, 2006)
The title of the general meeting is gDilemmas of Global Co-Existenceh, and 3 panel sessions will be held reflecting the results of the 10 years of activities of the Forum 2000. The general meeting will be open to the public and an audience of 500 to 600 is expected. A satellite symposium, hExploring Water Patterns in the Middle Easth, as well as small seminars will be held during the general meeting period.
- Meeting minutes and Evaluation Meeting
Minutes will be compiled and an evaluation meeting will be held; proposals will be prepared by the members of the Shared Concern Initiative. The proposals will be disseminated to foreign governments, international organizations, and the international media.
