NGO-Government Collaboration Award

The project aims to provide a new award for the most successful case of public private partnership achievement by accepting and selecting nominations of successful cases of partnership between local governments and NGOs in the Czech Republic. Recipients of the new award will be announced at a conference inviting local administration experts, representatives of relevant government departments, congressmen, and heads of the local governments in Central European countries. te main activities will be as follows.
- Award Selection (July to November, 2006)
Activities include the formation of a selection committee consisting of local administration experts, university professors, governmental department heads, and people from NGOs, and setting up of selection criteria. Nominations will be collected, and 10 successful cases will be selected in the initial selection round. All 10 cases will be evaluated through site visits, and, finally, the top three cases will be selected for the first through third awards.
- Award conference (December, 2006)
An awards conference will be held in December to share information about the awarded cases and to exchange opinions on the awarded cases.
- Preparation of a Site visit to Japan
Six individuals involved in the awarded cases will be briefed for a site visit to Japan.
- Dissemination (through year)
A Web site will be open and maintained for the management of the awarding system. A CD-ROM will be prepared for the dissemination of the selection results and delivered to relevant people.
