Promotion of NGO-Government Collaboration

5,000,000 yen [Self-operated/Grant project]
SPF, Center for Community Organizing (Czech)

Efficient local administrative services are sought while decentralization has been proceeding and the responsibilities of local administrations have been increasing in central European countries. The project will be implemented to contribute to strengthening ties between Japan and central European countries, and to focus on the roles of NGOs in the promotion of decentralization. It aims to raise awareness of the importance of the social instrumentation of the public private partnership between NPOs and the local administration, and to seek new directions for the activities of NGOs in the area. CCO will study and evaluate actual cases of public private partnerships in the Czech Republic, and award successful cases. CCO also will organize international meetings to discuss the possibility of transferring the experiences of the Czech Republic to three other central European countries. Awardees will be invited to Japan to exchange information with local administrative officers and NPOs who seek new direction under the pressure of decentralization.
