Japan Visiting Program for City Mayors

Since 1990, groups of local city mayors and deputy mayors with specific projects have been dispatched to Japan every year, and the number of visiting groups has totaled 15. The exchange project has made significant contributions to mutual understanding between Japan and China, and the development and economic prosperity of local Chinese cities.
This year, mayors and deputy mayors from the south east area of inland China will visit Japan and present the current situation and problems faced by local Chinese cities to Japanese administrative officers in the central ministries and local governments, and exchange opinions to advance cooperation between local cities. On their return to China, the participants will compile reports and submit them to relevant organizations
- Preparation and Post visit Evaluation
(1)Preparation meeting (April to May)
A preparation meeting will be held in small local cities, and participants for the Japan visit will be selected and receive preliminary training.
(2)Post visit Evaluation (June)
A Post visit evaluation meeting will be held, and the results of the meeting will be compiled.
- Japan Visit
(1) Members: 10 participants consisting of mayors and deputy mayors from the south east area of inland China.
(2) Time and places: They will visit Fukuoka, Yamaguchi, Tokyo, and some other cities in May over a period of 8 days.
(3) Exchange meeting: They will visit central ministries and local governments and exchange opinions.
