Developing Business Teaching Materials in Vietnam

8,000,000 yen (Self-operated/ Grant project)
The Sasakawa Peace Foundation, University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City (UEH, Vietnam)

It has been twenty years since Vietnam moved to a market economy, and attention is being given to MBA education courses to foster efficient enterprise managers as the Vietnamese manufacturing and service industries have been developing. However, most MBA course textbooks are written in the US or Europe and do not reflect the business managing situation in Vietnam. The project aims to help professors and graduate students from the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi Agriculture College develop MBA teaching materials that reflect Vietnamese business situations in cooperation with business administration experts from East Asian countries including Japan and Korea. Workshops for business case development will be organized twice a year in Vietnam, and professors and graduate students will visit Japan and Korea to see MBA courses in progress and typical enterprises.

Activities of the first year will be as follows.

Self-operated project
1. Professor Osamu Nariai from Reitaku University will be appointed as Project Advisor.
2. Business administration experts from East Asian countries including Japan and Korea will visit Vietnam and give lectures at workshops.
