Action Research on NPO Financial and Narrative Reporting

This one-year program will aim to develop accounting standards and project report formats based on the needs of NPOs, taking into account that new public accounting standards, and publicize them widely by the end of 2005.
  1. Drafting an open letter outlining basic discussion points:
    The program will draft an open letter outlining basic discussion points related to accounting and reporting standards.

  2. Symposium (April 2005 in Tokyo: 150 participants)
    A symposium will be held to discuss the various issues outlined in the above open letter and learn the opinions of NPOs and citizens.

  3. Workshops (five times):
    Workshops inviting various experts as lecturers will be organized and discussions held with the aim of developing policy proposals.

  4. Symposium to announce policy proposals (October or November 2005):
    The coalition will announce the policy proposals developed in the workshops. A report based on these policy proposals will be produced and distributed to participants as well as made available on the web.
