This year the project will prepare and conduct an international questionnaire aimed at assessing the impact of intellectual property rights
- Preparation of an international questionnaire (April to June, 2005):
The questionnaire will include questions related to the person's occupation, impediments to applying for/obtaining patents, costs, and other work-related issues.
- Conducting the questionnaire (July to September, 2005):
The questionnaire will be sent to a total of 12,000 scientists and researchers in the US, Germany, UK and Japan with the aim of obtaining the views of people in the private sector. The surveys will be distributed in electronic-form in the US, Germany, and UK, and in printed-form in Japan.
- Analysis of survey data and conference preparations (October 2005 to March 2006):
Analysis of data will be conducted during the third and fourth quarters of this year as well as next year. In addition, preparations will be made for the conference that will be held in the final year to announce the results of the survey.
