Promotion of "Percentage" Philanthropy in Central and Eastern Europe

This year is the third and final year of the project. NIOK will organize a group of experts from countries that have adopted Percentage Philanthropy such as Slovakia, Lithuania, and Romania, and conduct the following activities.

  1. The project will provide guidance for organizing a workshop based on the action plan developed last year with the aim of encouraging Macedonia, Georgia, and Ukraine to adopt Percentage Philanthropy. Two experts from each of the abovementioned countries that have adopted Percentage Philanthropy will participate in the workshop.

  2. Training in Budapest (September 2005, 14 participants): A representative each from government agencies, nonprofit organizations and intermediary support organizations from the three abovementioned target countries, and five experts from the countries that have already adopted Percentage Philanthropy, will be invited to participate in a workshop aimed at developing policy proposals and promotional activities.

  3. The program will develop a manual for drafting policy proposals for the development of reference materials (supported by the Open Society Institute) and a toolkit for promotional activities.

  4. Providing information and advice to other countries interested in adopting Percentage Philanthropy. (Year-round)

  5. Continue operation of the website (www.onepercent.hu) in order to collect and share Information on Percentage Philanthropy.
