Development of Teaching Materials for EOD and Demining
6,900,000 yen (Grant project)
Japan Mine Action Service (JMS, Japan)
JMS will study and prepare a syllabus for demining and teaching materials on the following schedule.
- Research in Japan (May to October, 2005)
JMS will conduct on-site hearings and collect information on the following schedule.
(1) Sites
1) Demining experts in the Kyushu area in May (4 days)
2) Self-Defense Army storage facilities for ammunition and landmines in August (4 days)
(2) Survey subjects
1) Nature of demining teams
2) Relevant activities (information control, safety management, training, response to accidents, etc)
3) Demining techniques
- Overseas study (10 days in June, 2005 in Sweden)
Delegates from JMS will visit Swedish EOD and the Demining Centre (SWEDEC, Sweden) that conducts integrated education on the disposal of unexploded shells and landmines, and conduct hearing surveys on an education curriculum, teaching materials, demining facilities, and on-site training.
- Preparation of teaching materials and curriculum
The program will commence with the preparation of a teaching curriculum and teaching materials based on the information collected.
