Tokyo Seminar: The New Northeast Asia

Economic Research Institute for Northeast Asia (ERINA, Japan)
Activities of the second year will be as follows.
- Tokyo Seminar
Four Tokyo Seminars will be held for politicians, businessmen, journalists, and administrators of the government with experts invited from China, Mongolia, Russia, and Korea.
(1) First Tokyo Seminar (May): Regional development programs in China
(2) Second Tokyo Seminar (August): cultural and regional diversity in Mongolia, and the possibility of exchange with Japan
(3) Third Tokyo Seminar (October): Russian diplomatic policies for Northeast Asia
(4) Fourth Tokyo Seminar (December): South Korean diplomatic policies for North Korea
- Tokyo Symposium
ERINA will organize a planning committee with institutes from cities on the Japan Sea side of Japan, and Tokyo, Kyoto, and Sendai to organize the Tokyo Symposium-For a New Northeast Asia. The planning committee will make proposals concerning Northeast Asia issues and present them at the Tokyo Symposium.
(1) Tokyo Symposium Planning Committee: Preparation for the planning committee will start in April, 2005. The planning committee will be formed by August, and make proposals concerning Northeast Asia issues by exchanging information and opinions by email.
(2) Tokyo Symposium (February, 2006)
A Tokyo Symposium entitled gFor New Northeast Asiah will be held with 200 politicians, businessmen, journalists, and government administrators invited to participate.
