Role of Mongolia in the Peaceful and Stable Development of Northeast Asia/ Phase II

Activities of the third year will be as follows.
  1. Seminar in Mongolia (August 2005 in Ulan Bator):
    A seminar will be held in Mongolia to discuss the development of new regional collaborations and proposals for economic development in Mongolia, based on the results of the two years of research activities.
  2. International seminar for economic collaborations in Asia (August, 2005, in Ulan Bator)
    MRDC and the KDI School of Public Policy and Management will jointly host an international seminar on economic development and collaboration with 5 invited policy makers and researchers from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Russia, and Central Asia. (KDI School of Public Policy and Management will provide financial support)
  3. Fact-finding tour (November, 2005, China and Korea)
    A study team consisting of 4 Mongolian experts will visit China (Beijing and Tianjin) and Korea (Seoul and Jinsen) to study economic development, regional collaboration, investment, trade and investment promotion programs.
  4. International meeting (February, 2006, in Ulan Bator)
    An international meeting entitled gRoles of Mongolia in the formation of the Northeast Asian communityh will be held to make proposals on the positioning and participation of Mongolia in the Northeast Asia region. The proposals will be transmitted to the Mongolian congress and government.
  5. Dispatching of a Japanese researcher
    A young Japanese researcher will be sent to Mongolia. The researcher will compile research reports concerning the Mongolian economy and society, and the reports will be disseminated on the SPF web site.
