Towards Strengthened Regional Cooperation in Asia

This year is the third year of a 3-year project and the following activities are planned.
- Self-operated project
The project will invite Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Senior Economist at the Asian Development Bank, as a project advisor, and will conduct the following research aimed at the realization of an Asian Economic Community.
(1) The role of Japan and India in regional cooperation in South Asia
(2) The role of Japan and India in economic exchange between Iran and the Middle East
(3) The role of Japan and India in strengthening cooperation between South Asia, ASEAN and Japan
(4) Revisiting Japan's Asia policy, particularly toward India and China
- Grant project: Towards an Asian Economic Community: The Way Forward
Grant is awarded to the Research and Information System for the Non-aligned and other Developing Countries (RIS, India) for the implementation of the above program. The project will conduct policy research and dissemination of awareness-raising /information concerning trade, investment, finance, currency, energy and technology transfer, which are vital to establishing an Asian Economic Community as a comprehensive cooperative framework for Asia.
