EastWest Institute (EWI, USA)
- CELA Seminar (July 17 to 26, 2005):
A seminar will be held at Koc University (Istanbul) with invited young leaders from Central Eurasian countries. The seminar will cover topics such as multilateral regional cooperation, confidence building, and democratization, with the aim of providing participants with the necessary knowledge and expertise to lead their countries in the future. In addition to American and European experts and practitioners, East Asian specialists will also be invited to speak at the seminar.
- Follow-up seminar (November, 2005)
A seminar entitled “Central Asia 2020―A vision of Regional Cooperation” will be held in Kazakhstan (Almaty) as a follow-up seminar for past CELA meeting participants
- Regional Seminar (November, 2005):
A regional seminar will be held to discuss regional issues and regional collaboration.
- Website construction:
A website will be created to provide the participants of the CELA seminar and follow-up seminar with a platform for exchanging views and information, and also for disseminating information about the seminars.
- Strengthening links between EWI and SPF
A Japanese researcher will be sent to the EWI Istanbul Institute to strengthen links between EWI and SPF. An EWI researcher will also attend the SPF Issyk-Kul Forum.
