Human Resource Development in Myanmar: Phase II

Activities of the first year will be as follows:
  1. Fostering of Myanmar Regional Public Officials and high-ranking officials of the Civil Service Selection and Training Board (CSSTB) (Grant program for IRC)
    1. Training of Instructors at training facilities for regional public officials (November, 2005, 4 weeks)
      About 20 instructors at the training facilities will receive training in Singapore. The training course involves teaching methods, teaching simulation classes, and guidance in the preparation of teaching materials. Training experts will be invited from East Asia, including Singapore.
    2. Training of high-ranking officials of CSSTB (January, 2006, 1 week)
      Ten leaders from CSSTB will receive training on approaches to a study to set directions in public system reformation in Myanmar, and methods for the preparation of policy reports.
  2. Fostering of young journalists in Myanmar (October 2005 to February 2006)
    (Commissioned by the Myanmar Times) The Myanmar Times will be commissioned to give ten young journalists training in subjects such as how to write an introduction, how to make titles, how to interview, and how to collect material. The training includes on-the-job training. Instructors will be invited from Australia.
  3. Self-operated project (from July 2005)
    Japanese experts will be sent to Myanmar to facilitate the smooth and effective operation of the project including the commissioned project. SPF will dispatch its personnel to Myanmar to monitor the progress of the projects.
