Capacity Building in Myanmar in Preparation for ASEAN Summits

- Self-operated project (April, 2005 to March, 2006)
Coordination of the capacity building program and advising for future Myanmar projects will be commissioned to Mr. U Aye Lwin, a well known diplomat and the former Director of the ASEAN Department of the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He knows many important people in the Myanmar government and has an extensive human network.
- Grant program: Dispatching Myanmar diplomats and holding seminars (April, 2005 to March, 2006)
Myanmar will host the 12th ASEAN SUMMIT. Successful hosting will provide Myanmar with international credibility and possibly bring international aid for the development of Myanmar industries including the tourism industry. MISIS will dispatch Myanmar diplomats to international meetings and hold seminars with invited foreign experts to acquire skills to organize the 12th ASEAN SUMMIT.
