Business Case Development: Enhancement of Business School Education in Uzbekistan

The program aims to systematically provide teachers and students in the higher education system of Uzbekistan opportunities to study theories of corporate management and their reality in East Asian countries, and develop teaching materials that will reflect the reality of corporate management in Uzbekistan.
The activities of the program will be as follows.
- Advisor
Professor Osamu Nariai from Reitaku University will be assigned as an advisor to the program.
- Preparation of teaching materials and seminar
(1) Preparation of teaching materials (2005 April to 2006 February):
A total of ten companies to produce textbooks, including both manufacturers and service providers, will be selected based on last year's work. In the early February 2006, teachers and students from Uzbekistan will conduct case studies on quality control, process control, and technology transfer according to the methods provided by experts from East Asia. After completion of the case studies, they will compile reports on the research results.
(2) Instruction on textbook production by East Asian specialists (May and October 2005):
A total of six specialists from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore will visit Tashkent to provide instructions and give lectures on how to develop business textbooks.
(3) "East Asia Business Management Seminar" by East Asian specialists (May and October 2005):
Seminars on business management in East Asian countries will be held in Tashkent (tentative) once during each of the two visits by foreign specialists from East Asia for the benefit of small to medium size business owners and representatives from state-run companies.
- Fact-finding Visit (July to August 2004):
Thirty people (teachers and students) will be selected from participants in the development of business textbooks program. They will visit Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore in groups of ten over a one-week period, and visit major companies in these countries and learn business management practices.
