Strengthening Parliamentarian Dialogue in Cambodia

The following activities are planned.
  1. Fact-finding tour and seminar in Japan (September 2005):
    Seven parliamentarians from the three main Cambodian political parties will visit Japan for six days and meet with Japanese parliamentarians, professionals and members of relevant organizations. Participants will engage in discussions about the parliamentary cabinet system, the election system (election districts and election campaigns) and so on. The Cambodian parliamentarians will also attend a seminar to share information about the current situation in Cambodia.
  2. Follow up workshop (October 2005):
    A workshop to report the results of their visit to Japan will be held upon their return to Cambodia. A transcript of the workshop will be complied as a report by CICP.
  3. Compilation of the workshop report (November, 2005)
    A final workshop report concerning parliamentary systems and their management will be prepared as a compilation of the discussions taking place at the workshops over the last 3 years.
